One of the most popular ways of delivering goods around the world is sea transportation. Let's immediately define: for the transportation of goods by sea they do not swim, but go, and not ships (they are only military), but ships. In general, a vessel is a floating structure intended for transport, fishing, military, scientific, sports and other purposes. We are also interested in civil transport (cargo) ships.
A cargo ship, broadly speaking, is any non-passenger ship, but, subject to all the qualifications and scope of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, is a self-propelled ship of more than 500 gross tonnage that is not a warship or a military transport, is not exclusively fishing, is not a pleasure yacht and is not engaged in commercial activities.
Cargo ships are divided into two large groups: bulk carriers and tankers.
Dry cargo ships include container ships, lighter ships, bulk carriers, ro-ro ships (including car carriers), refrigerated ships, as well as specialized ships (timber carriers, cement carriers, etc.).
Among the tankers there are also specialized ones - gas carriers, wine carriers, etc., but they are all united by the transportation of cargo in tanks (tanks). There are ships of mixed type or universal - these can simultaneously or alternately transport both bulk and bulk or piece dry cargo.
